I am an idiot

I registered for three online college courses for this semester recently do I can work towards a music degree and I was at Starbucks earlier, drinking coffee and trying to get started with my classes...I was stupid enough to not make sure I wouldn't trip over my laptop's cord when I got up, and of course I just had to snag it with my foot and knock my netbook onto the ground. After that, the screen faded and nothing would work after logging in to my user. So it looks like I'm going to have to take from my measly life savings to buy a new laptop... :( The irony of it is that my laptop gets broken now that I've started my college courses and really need it (of course I'd really be unhappy about it even if I didn't have school to worry about, but this makes it even worse). 20/20 hindsight. :(

Oh no... Not fun. I'm really sorry about.

Thanks Riah. :) I attached it to my desktop's monitor and although my netbook's screen froze up, it showed up just fine on the other screen, so I'm hoping the problem will be able to be fixed (and fairly cheaply).

oh dear! so sorry about that! it's terrible when my laptop bugs out and hates me (it did during finals last quarter. eevvilll) but I don't even want to think of it totally dying! praying you'll be able to find a really good, super affordable one :)

Thank you, Siri. :)
I connected my desktop's monitor to it and that worked, but carrying a monitor around with me is certainly not practical. Still, that makes me hopeful that I might be able to fix my laptop or do something other than buy a whole new (or used) one.

I'm sorry, but the mental image of you carrying around a laptop connected to a huge monitor is pretty funny. I don't mean to laugh at your problem, because I'm sure it's not funny to you, but the mental image is laughable :)

Riah,
Yeah, it would look pretty silly. I can imagibe the stares I'f get if I did that. I've been taking my brother's laptop to Starbucks recently but I hope my neighbor will be able to fix my netbook's screen.
